Range Extending Tips for Escooters!

As the nights get longer and the air gets cooler you may notice a decrease in range per charge on your escooter. This blog is to explain why this happens and what you can do to combat the elements and get the most range out of each ride!

So... your escooter doesn't get much range now that it's cold... why is that? Well, the simple answer is that batteries HATE the cold. In short, batteries rely on chemical reactions to work, and freezing temperatures slow or stop those reactions.

This is why during the winter months it is not uncommon to see your rated range halved. This is also the case for electric cars.

So what can be done?

The best way you can combat the lower temperatures affecting your battery is by keeping it warm. We recommend storing your escooter in a warm dry place, especially overnight when it gets extremely cold. Storing your escooter in a shed at the back of the garden for instance is not ideal, as although the scooter is technically shielded by the elements, it is the cold that will penetrate and have an affect on the battery during the next day.

If you can keep the battery at room temperature through the night, you will see higher ranges per charge through the day.
