The Solar P1 Pro has a large laser focused light giving a clear view in the dark for up to 18 meters, plus a rear brake and tail light for traffic behind you to be aware you are there. Safety is always a priory with Solar.

The P1 Pro has a loud horn which is controlled by the switch button on the left of the handlebar. As with any vehicle a horn is an compulsory safety feature to warn others of your presence; which is exactly what the horn on the P1 Pro is designed to do.

The P1 Pro can be driven by the powerful single or dual motor. The single motor mode will only use one wheel to drive the scooter, where as the dual motor mode will use both wheels. This will release the scooter in a pedigree of its own with great power, handling and speed, making it effectively dual wheel drive, and in a class of its own.

The P1 Pro is one of the few scooters which has integrated blinker lights on a scooter, with a switch of a button you may indicate to go left or right. The indicators are built within the chassis on the front and back giving maximum visibility for others to see you.

The P1 Pro has in built USB charging port which can be used to charge your phone on the go, this is located on the right side the Smart LCD Screen.

Equipped with high standard NUTT hydraulic brakes on both the front and rear wheels of the P1 Pro, braking has never been easier and more comfortable on such a powerful scooter. The braking system which is partly electronic will keep braking at ease. The P1 Pro also has rear large fender , this prevents any back splash from water or dirt keeping the scooter deck clean. NUTT is one of the leading brakes to be used on electric scooters.

The large LCD display showcases the speed, mileage, usage time, power, stop, voltage, etc. Giving you all the information required to operate the Solar P1 Pro safely.

The power button is used to power on the display and scooter as well change the parameter settings. The P1 Pro has a password protection on the display to start the scooter.

The P1 Pro is equipped with a NFC start, this has been designed and integrated into the scooter display. Adding on safety this NFC key card will ensure no one can have access to the scooter except the owner. The scooter also uses a keyfob for locking and unlocking the scooter. The keyfob can be used for cardless start.

The P1 Pro uses a twist or thumb throttle to accelerate, the further the throttle is rotated/pushed down the speed will increase.

Detailed Review!

How’s shipping?: Ordered on a Monday night, arrived Sunday morning (Wisconsin).

How’s the build quality?: There was a squeak when going over bumps and flexing the stem, although it only lasted two days during the first week of ownership. Couldn’t tell where exactly it was coming from, and unsure if the cause was my own error in setup or a quality thing. Other than some obviously cheap elements like the plastic, weightless key fob and switches on the handlebars, important parts like grips/deck/fender feel very solid.

What’s the true range?: I weigh 185lb, go insane speeds, and get around 1.5 hours of ride time covering a true distance of 27 miles (speedometer and odometer read slightly high). I could probably go ~35 miles If I ran it until the battery died, but realistically you’re going to want to plug it in once you get down to 1 or 2 “bars” of range for battery longevity. The 50 mi claim is doable if you go 20mph, are a smaller rider, and go from 100% to 0%.

Are the handlebars tall enough? I’m 6 '3 and the top setting is very comfortable (I skipped the tron light option to have a taller “deck to handlebar” height, which increased it to around 41.5 inches. Anyone ~6’5 or under should feel comfortable for long distances.

Will it satisfy a need for speed? Yes, the thing rips. You can zoom past bicycles and confuse cars, if that’s what you want to do.

Favorite things: Power, ground clearance, comfort, screen.

Criticisms: There is no way to set a charge limit, so you can’t plug it in overnight if you only want to charge to 80% for battery health. There are no “dealerships” near 80% of people in the US, so you can’t try before you buy. The owners’ manual is only marginally helpful during setup, and the visuals aren’t helpful because the photos “miss” what the instruction is telling you to do. If you’ve never owned a scooter before there’s also no information on adjusting the suspension // changing the tires // securing the thumb throttle in place (took me 20 minutes to figure out which allen key to use since bolt specifications aren’t provided). There is no steering damper.

Never too Old

Though I am new to scooters, I'm 74 years old! I liked what I saw in Solar Scooters. I was going to go with the P1 3.0, I changed my decision and went with the P1 Pro. So glad I did! I have had it about six months and put a little over 450 miles on it. Never an issue and always delivered a great ride.

Solar scooter

My scooter is great but I wish it had full instructions to work the screen. But she's a beaut and I'm getting a lot of head turns wherever I go. Everyone notice that it's not your typical scooter. There's a new player on the block.

Solar fulfilled my request

Solar, scooters fulfilled my request for a replacement controller on time. I made a mistake and asked for the wrong part, but once I alerted them to my mistake they are replacing it with the correct part that should be on its way.

An Upgrade!

I am coming from previously owning/using two other electric kick scooters. My first was a pitiful Swagtron that barely worked and my second one is the Speedway V "luxury" scooter that had it's own problems right out of the box but held up for five years.
I went on my first ride with the Solar P1 Pro just today now that the weather was amicable and I have *thoughts*.
I ordered the Saddle to go with my scooter. I am more comfortable riding that way. At 5'5" the saddle took many adjustments to find a comfortable height. The Speedway V def was not as high off the ground and quite often had issues getting over the tiniest of curbs.
The thumb throttle is much better than the finger one. I have wrist issues so wasn't confident the twist throttle would be best for me.
I really really appreciate the smooth acceleration and the quietness of the ride! The Speedway V was jerky and noisy.
The off-road tires are a boon! The area where I live, road maintenance is an afterthought and so the roads are often messy and in various states of disrepair. Street tires did not make for a smooth or comfy ride.
I appreciate the wide display, the dual motor and option to go single motor either front or rear, the brighter and wider headlight, the cruise control, the various riding modes, the quiet signal, and a horn that sounds like a car horn instead of an angry frog! I also appreciate the password protect and the car alarm! The Speedway V later had an option for a fingerprint reader but they were never in stock and I eventually lost interest. The kickstand is in a much better place for scooter stability and looks better built to support said scooter. And the overall feel of the scooter feels much sturdier than the Speedway V! I wasn't joking when I say that the Solar P1 Pro is an upgrade, especially when the two scooters without mods were the same price!

I am very very very pleased with my purchase. My one criticism would be for a more detailed manual for assembly especially for those scooters that have saddles included. Fortunately Solar Motors CS has been very patient and very helpful with my questions and confusion.

Twist / Thumb Throttle

The P1 Pro has the option of a NFC Start which is twist or thumb throttle operated.. Both are designed to keep your scooter safe. The scooter starts with a NFC system and password, comes with a set of two key cards.

Self Healing Tires

On road tires can be used for predominantly riding on normal road with tarmac, the off road option will be suitable if using mostly off road but occasionally on road. The tires are also self - healing which can help puncture prevention. Self healing works as a defence mechanism against small punctures.

Saddle

The P1 Pro can  be purchased with or without a seat. The Seat option scooter can be used with a seat or without a seat. The Seat is also installed with suspension to provide extra comfort when seated and riding the scooter. A great option going on a long ride.

Tron Edition

The TRON EDITION is the first of its kind incorporating electronic luminescent lights in a high performance scooter. The custom build deck hand built in the UK houses the ultra bright electro luminescent lights. One year in the making and through many revisions, Solar can now proudly present the spectacular Solar P1 Pro Tron Edition. The Tron edition comes in cyan, red, purple or green.
